User Manuals
User Manuals are mainly refered to in two cases:
- When the user cannot intuitively perform a procedure
- When more information on the procedure is required
To meet these needs, effective User Manuals should:
- Be clear, concise and in simple language, so the reader's concerns are addressed quickly
- Be compatible with the technical level of the users and their needs
- Include information on when procedures are performed - not just how to perform them
- Include a Quick Start section to ease the user into preliminary use of the system
- Be divided into logical chapters that both stand independently and are tied together
